Introduction

We come from the earth, and to her we shall return: our bodies literally are made of our mineral allies.  In our technologically-focused culture, we can easily become disassociated from this primary relationship—and yet, ironically, computers use and mimic crystals and crystalline structures.  Consciously realizing this primary relationship supports us in working together to create the highest possible forms.  We are blessed to be living when gemstones and wisdom regarding their metaphysical properties, like spiritual teachings and tools from many traditions, are becoming widely available.  

Wearing gemstones on the body “grounds” us—they remind us of our embodiment, the gift and challenge of journeying into solid form.  We carry their weight, they take our heat, we pass our energies back and forth.  As we become more aware of their aliveness, gemstones share their consciousness with us, emanating their qualities, desires, and mysteries.  Gaia consciousness—unconditional love enfolded in hardest density—resonates from crystals, stones, pendants, and gemstone beads.

Chosen with care and attention, gemstones support and enliven us.  They can be enlisted to energize our intentions, and, like all conscious beings, they relate best if we treat them with love and care.  I cleanse all stones when I receive them, asking that I be guided to making the most illuminating and supportive creations, and that the stones attract those who will benefit most from their companionship.
